We went to Holbrook and enjoyed going to Sacrament meeting with my dad and step mom. She bore her testimony and it was touching as she reflected on the sacrifice her son is making for all of us in Iraq in the middle of the war. She herself was an immigrant from Germany as a teenage girl. She is grateful to be an American citizen. It was good to see my dad. I love him.
We went to my best friends house to see her and all her brothers and sisters were there. I used to babysit all of them but the oldest. I was only able to spend an hour with her but Bobby and I enjoyed going back in time and he got to visit with her brother. They are such welcoming people. They loved me unconditionally as I was growing up and spent most of my days with them from age 13 to 18. I didnt have my camera with me and could kick myself for it.
We went to the firemans BBQ, Oh My Gosh was it GOOD, and it was all you could eat. None of us could eat seconds.
That little town put on one heck of a fireworks show. I have seen it a few times and they do a great job. My favorite part was eating, visiting, and running into people I knew. It was so nice.
Its seems like we got to spend a second with each person but it was wonderful. I commented to Bobby that this is how it will feel in Heaven seeing people we love again, just another chance I had to bear my testimony about what we believe.
